AHECS work is delivered through a series of task groups that monitor and report on trends and initiatives present in graduate and postgraduate recruitment and employment. They develop tools and best practices for use by our members and employers and support the delivery of careers services for students through their work with our partners.
Investigate up to date and relevant information about the labour market and report on trends and patterns in graduate recruitment and employment throughout Ireland and internationally.
Develop a comprehensive employability pack which can be used by careers advisory professionals Higher Education Institutions throughout Ireland.
Collating best practice in work placement for placement practitioners and other stakeholders such as employers, students and academics.
Compiling research on good practice for members on careers service provision to postgraduate taught and research students with an emphasis on the latter.
Continuing professional development and the promotion of best practice in the careers advisory profession. The group does this by delivering training courses and seminars to its members and in the provision of financial assistance in the form of bursaries to members who pursue additional qualifications related to their profession
